She helped with the mulch project and hosted the neighborhood coffee in June; 15 people attended included new neighbor, Nanette Almon and her two children. Anne received a phone call from a homeowner thanking the Board for the new landscaping project along Parker Rd.
D. Treasurer-Dick Moore received a comment from a homeowner to remind others that there is a covenant that restricts the use of advertising signs in yards; this will be mentioned in the next Gazette. Dick Moore reported that we are not using our reserves and should consider a different way to allocate for reserves next spring in preparation for the next budget and to comply with new Colorado laws. All but 25 homes have paid their annual assessment at this time. Anne Stellmon made a motion that was seconded by Carl Miller to approve the June transactions. Carl Miller made a motion that was seconded by Debra Jones to approve the July Treasurer’s report. Both motions passed unanimously.
E. ACC- Requests from 14160 E. Saratoga Pl. (paint) and 14190 E. Saratoga Pl. (shingles) were approved.
F. Grounds-Norm Arlt reported that on July 14, 2009 the City of Aurora inspected the area that was done for the rebate project. He suggested that we wait till the end of the summer to decide what to do about finishing mulching around the tennis courts with better quality mulch and having a contractor do the work. All the work in the Grant area is completed but several plants have died and will be replaced at the end of the summer. No watering is being done at this time because the mulch is dry but the ground underneath is very wet. People are using the Breeze pathway along Parker Rd. Xcel has broken several sprinklers while putting in a new power line and Norm will submit a bill to them for reimbursement. The short that was affecting the light box has been fixed. The pine tree at the Parker Rd. entry is stressed and may need to be removed; will consider this at the end of the summer.
G. Social-Debra Jones suggested we wait till the August meeting to make final plans for the August 29 Party.
H. Neighborhood Watch-Derrick Laughlin will contact our neighboring communities about the possibility of hiring private security for the area during the summer months due to the recent vandalism.
I. Welcoming-Carl Miller reported the Stiphout home is for sale.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT-The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
