AGHA BOARD MEETING
JULY 16, 2008
I. CALL TO ORDER-The meeting was called to order by President, Randy Simpson at 7:05 P.M.
II. ROLL CALL-Board members present: Norm Arlt, Debra Jones, Royal Shields, Randy Simpson and Anne Stellmon. Absent: Dave Estes, Derrick Laughlin, Dick Moore and Barb Powell.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES-A motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously to accept the June Minutes as presented.
IV. AGHA FORUM-Carl Miller attended the meeting and put his name forward as a candidate for the Board election in September.
V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Covenant Review Plan-Lynn Walton, Randy Simpson and Anne Stellmon met on July 12, 2008 to review the draft document that will be presented to the AGHA attorney. Randy and Anne will met with the attorney at HindmanSanchez sometime in August. Randy will make the appointment.
B. Randell Property Status-Randy Simpson reported that all construction and landscaping has been completed by the bank to meet the AGHA requirements. The bank has paid all current assessments as well.
C. Board Nominations Update- Carl Miller is a candidate for the Board election; Randy Simpson and Anne Stellmon will be candidates for reelection to the Board. Norm Arlt will not run for reelection.
D. Financial Records Review-Royal Shields will contact another person for a quote to do the Financial Review. It was noted that Dick Moore had emailed his opinion that a review was not necessary; our governing documents require a review but the Board agrees that a simple review is all that is required at the least expense.
E. Spiff Awards-There will be 4 $25 awards presented at the Annual Homeowner’s Meeting. Anne Stellmon will write an article for the Gazette and obtain the gift certificates. Board members will do the judging in early September.
F. August Block Party-The Board continued planning for the party on August 16, 2008 from 5pm till dusk. The AGHA will be providing paper products, water, soda, chicken wings and grilled pineapple. Homeowners will be asked to bring finger foods and alcoholic beverages if they so desire. Board members will help with setup, tables, trash cans and coolers. There will be a karaoke, costume and best drink contest. Help will be needed for picking up barricades, cleanup. Debra Jones will write an article for the Gazette.
VI. NEW BUSINESS- No new business.
VII. BOARD REPORTS
A. President-Randy Simpson asked for articles to be submitted for the Gazette by July 29th.
B. Vice-president-No report
C. Secretary-See Covenant Review Plan above
D. Treasurer-Barb Powell submitted her report electronically. A motion was made, seconded and passes unanimously to accept the report as presented.
E. Architectural Control Committee-Royal Shields submitted his report electronically.
F. Grounds-Norm Arlt submitted his report electronically.
G. Social-Debra Jones reported the Dumpster Days will be October 3-5, 2008 and will look into changing the size for easier access.
H. Neighborhood Watch-No report.
I. Welcoming-No report.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT-Randy Simpson adjourned the meeting at 9:15 P.M.
