Coming and Going
By Barbara Harrington
Once again it was a quiet month in Andover Glen for houses listed for sale. We
have one home for sale.
As you probably heard on the news, JC Penney sold its chain of Eckerd drug
stores to a Canadian firm. The new company has elected to close all Eckerds in
Colorado and stop construction of any new ones. Those currently in the process
of being built appear to be going forward at least to the stage where the
building’s exterior is completed. So, we’ll all be anxiously awaiting the
completion and new ownership of the property at Belleview and Parker Road.
The TGI Friday’s in Pioneer Hills continues to move along.
Monument Plans Finalized
By Barbara Harrington
I am very excited to announce that the Board has concluded their deliberations
on the design and materials for our new entryway monument and a contract should
be signed shortly. If all goes according to plan, we should have our newly
designed monument in place in June. The Andover Glen Park and Dillon entrance
pillars will be getting a facelift, too, as their letters will be replaced with
shiny new ones. The new monument and new letters on the other pillars should
give our park and community entrances a nice, long needed facelift. They have
not been updated since they were built in 1985.
With the warmer weather and the chance to get outside to work on our own homes
and yards, perhaps each of us can find something on our own property that we can
improve to enhance our community’s appearance.
