Andover Glen Homeowner’s Association Meeting Minutes

1Call to Order:  The meeting was called to order at the home of Dave Kline, 4811 S. Carson St. at 7:02 p.m. Vice President Terry Allen

Board Members Present: Terry Allen, Norm Arlt, Jan Guerra, Fred Freeh, Randy Simpson, Dave Kline.

2.  Board Reports:

Special Presentation:  The Board listened to a 25 minute presentation by Superior Products related to a special coating for houses that goes on much like paint but last 4 times as long.  The company gave references from homeowners in the area who had applied the product to their home.

President- Terry Allen:

* Approved a request for new paint and shutters to the Arlt house at14193 E. Layton Dr.

* Approved a request for patio concrete, and new windows for the Peoples house at 14357 E. Layton Dr.

* Terry read a letter from an Association Member who was unhappy with the article written in July’s Gazette about the proposed covenant change.  The Member thought the article was completely false and misleading and could lead to legal consequences.

Vice President – Fred Freeh

* Reported that the AG picnic had approximately 70 in attendance.

* Reported that he had found a company willing to drop off a roll-off dumpster in the neighborhood.  Board voted to have Fred proceed for the weekend of Sept. 19-21.

Welcoming -Barbara Harrington (absent)

* No new residents in the area.

Treasurer – Jan Guerra

*  Reported that currently 6 homes had not paid their dues as of the date of the meeting.  *  Asked that mention of the 6 homes be made in the newsletter.

*  Reported that the 6 homes not paying dues had been contacted.

*  Reported that the Sagebrush Elementary School Cafeteria had been reserved for the AG annual meeting for September 15, 2003 at 7 p.m.

*  Reported that as of the date of the meeting, there were 51 yes, 10 no, and 1 abstention for the proposed covenant change.

Safety – Dave Kline

*  Report that there would be a Aurora Police PAR Officer at the AG Annual Meeting.

Grounds  - Norm Arlt:

* Trimmed off vandalized branches from Siberian Elm in Park.

* Working on patching cracks on tennis courts.

* Will be applying Sucker Stopper to cottonwood/aspen sprouts.

* Reported that AA&RR Enterprises repaired various irrigation problems, billing at $985.00

* Will be working with Emerald Isle to do other jobs in lieu of mowing due to watering restrictions, billing o.k.’d  at $1300.

*  Reported that the July water usage was 221,000 gallons at a cost of  $824.

*  Mulch along Parker was washed out by 2” rainstorm and will have to be replaced.

*  Replaced Pickets on Parker Road fence.

*  Removed a dead magpie from entrance.

*  Reported that the Aurora Fire Department were called to the neighborhood due to 4 teens building a fire under a 4” diameter firework.

Secretary – Randy Simpson

* Is still looking for articles from the board or other association members for the newsletter.

General

* The board discussed the vote tally from the current proposed covenant change and decided that the prospects for it passing were very small, and based on the number of months it’s been out to the members, the board decided to put forth no further effort to solicit votes from the 37 members who still had not voted.

*  The board listened to a proposal from Quink Arlt regarding re-establishment of the Architectural Review board.  The Board suggested she write an article for the newsletter regarding this issue.

 The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. The next meeting (Annual Meeting) was set for 7 p.m. on September 15, 2003 at Sagebrush Elementary School Cafeteria.
